Gretchen was fortunate to speak with Janet Lee, a publishing industry veteran and DACM (Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine) , RYT a 200 hr Certified Yoga Instructor and a health journalist based in Kansas City, Missouri. Janet served as the fitness director at Shape, Self and Fitness magazines and has created hundreds of workouts for various publications as well as exercise DVDs and an app. She continues to write health, nutrition and fitness stories for national magazines and has served as editor-in-chief for more than a dozen health-focused special interest publications.
Janet recently wrote the book, “Gut Health for Women: Eat Better to Feel Better in Days!” She explained to Gretchen how the gut microbiome plays an important role in all health aspects as people age. Scientists have discovered that gut health plays a big role in heart health and, now it has been discovered there is a big connection between gut health and brain health.
Gretchen swears by acupuncture (thank you Mark Melichorre @1taocultivator) and since Janet is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, she shared how acupuncture can help and improve people over 50’s health and lifestyle.
Janet had some great insight about aging enthusiastically and even mentioned one of our favorite interviews with @flippinfifty for advice.
You can watch the entire interview through the link in our bio!
