Improve Your Memory and Spatial Cognition – Practice Balance Training

Many of you emailed me to ask what kind of balance board I used in Friday’s video posts on IG, Tik Tok, and YouTube

Did you know a study by Scientific Reports in 2017 determined that people who practiced balance training had improvement in memory and spatial cognition?

That made me want to get a balance board more than ever! After researching and trying some, I discovered the Yes4All Wooden Wobble Balance Board. 

I also enrolled in a brain health study and received a free Apple Watch as part of the study. You can also join it!  It’s really fun and something new and different to try. Keep reading to learn more about the study and how you can get involved.

 

 

The Yes4All Wooden Wobble Balance Board did Wobble and my laughter made balancing even more difficult as I moved and pitched in all directions. 

It was tough just trying to stand upright on 2 feet and when I finally achieved that, I tried tree pose, squats, and planking on the board. 

I am going to do everything I can to improve my balance. 

  

 

Speaking of memory and brain health… 

I am enrolled in a virtual research study by Biogen in collaboration with Apple for brain health and it is a lot of fun!

The study, called Intuition, aims to identify signals from the Apple watch they give you that could help monitor changes in brain health and provide a better understanding of the brain that could benefit others in the future.  Earn points along the way to redeem up to $260 in gift cards or make a charitable donation.

Will you please join me in the study? It adds a fun, new dimension to my day. I look forward to playing the games and I love my new Apple watch. 

How to enroll: 

  1. Download the Intuition app on your iPhone. All participants must be iPhone users with an iPhone 8 or later, running the latest version of iOS.
  2. Enroll in the Intuition study. Answer some questions in the Intuition app to confirm if you’re eligible to join the study, then complete the onboarding process. It will take about 30 minutes to complete the surveys.
  3. Participate wherever you are! Since Intuition is a virtual study, joining simply requires that you wear the Apple Watch provided to you and complete study activities – mostly in the Intuition app on your iPhone, sometimes on your computer or iPad.
